#1 Best Practice: Use the Filters to target your audiences. Make sure you are sending messages that matter to them! Carelessly sending to all contacts may result in your dealership being flagged and result in suspension.

#2 Best Practice: Communicate with leads that have consented less than 18 months ago.

#3 Best Practice: Use Data Tags when sending email and especially text campaigns so that the message is more personalized. Available Data Tags can be found here.

#4 Best Practice: Planning ahead and creating a marketing email template with the dealership logo, pictures, and video is a good idea. These can be really great for a bigger event going on at the dealership like a special promotion or sale. This is when you want to email a larger audience and you will be giving the best impression!

#5 Best Practice: Use appropriate messaging that will not be filtered by wireless carriers. To reduce SPAM messaging, the United States, Canada, and wireless carriers are filtering messages. Filtered Messages include:

  • Hate speech, harassment, exploitative, abusive, or any communications that originate from a hate group.

  • Fraudulent messages.

  • Malicious content, such as malware or viruses.

#6 Best Practice: Quickly respond back to prospects and customers when they reply to your text or email campaigns. Use the Needs Reply tab to see a list of incoming communication that has yet to be responded to.
